Back in 2010, Tom was working for his father’s building company after spending some years learning the trade, when Fil joined the team, bringing his experience as a general builder. They worked together for three years before deciding to take the plunge and create Go-Large Design and Build Ltd.

From humble beginnings starting on driveways and paving, the team of two quickly grew and currently our team is made up of 15 individuals, all bringing experience and skills from various trades, as well as an extensive network of trusted and loyal sub-contractors.

The team now focuses their attention on bigger projects such as double storey extensions, conversion, full property renovations and new build projects.

Fil, a stickler for detail and quality, can be found on site overseeing the construction element of your project and you will undoubtedly come across him sweeping and then re-sweeping site at the end of the day due to his hatred of mess and disorganisation. Originally from Portugal, Fil’s father had him working on site from the tender age of six, so when he is says ‘building is his life’ – he absolutely means it! After clocking off after a hard day’s work, there is nothing Fil enjoys more than spending time with his family, especially his little granddaughter who he dotes on.

Tom is our resident cheeky chap, who is always on hand to help our customers with decision making, offering advice and ideas both from a construction, and financial point of view. Tom is the one who will cost up and make sure all elements of the project stay on track, troubleshooting and problem solving as and when required. Outside of work, Tom can be found spending time with his wife and two young daughters, playing golf, talking about golf or thinking about golf.
